The strong Elder Root can be covered with moss or epiphytes, enhancing the natural look of your aquarium. Elder Roots are very dark in color and look great in an aquarium or terrarium.

The roots should be pre-watered for at least 24 hours before planting to prevent them from swelling.

As with all roots, the elder roots release tannins into the water, which turn the water yellowish/brown, but are completely harmless and disappear after a while. A bacterial growth can also become noticeable, which is also harmless and disappears on its own after about four weeks.
