Shirakura Mineral Stone is a swellable clay mineral stone made of montmorillonite that enriches the aquarium water with vital minerals and is a natural ion exchanger for cleaning water. Due to its extremely high ion exchange capacity, it binds toxins such as ammonium/ammonia and heavy metals over a long period of time and stores them firmly so that these substances can no longer pose a danger to shrimp.
Initially, it looks as if the mineral stone is dissolving in the water. Of course, it is not doing that; it is simply swelling, which is necessary for the toxins to be stored in the intermediate layers and adsorbed onto the three-layer silicate.
For health, vitality, bright colors and to avoid molting problems, it is crucial that the aquarium water is sufficiently enriched with minerals and that any toxins that arise are quickly bound. This is especially true when using natural, very soft water or when using a substrate that softens the original water. This can quickly lead to a lack of important minerals. Japanese shrimp farmers are convinced of the positive properties of the mineral stones and use them in their breeding facilities, including Takayuki Shirakura .
Application
Before use, hold the stone briefly under water about four times every few minutes so that it can absorb water and does not break in the aquarium.
Simply place approx. 200 g of Mineral Stone into the tank for every 100 l of aquarium water. Replace after approx. 6 months. An overdose will not cause any disadvantages for shrimp. If the mineral stone is covered in too much algae, you should take it out of the aquarium and carefully brush off the algae. Then you can simply put it back in the aquarium.
We usually ship within 2-6 working days so that you can receive your order quickly.
