Supplementary feed for ornamental shrimp - ShrimpFit from GlasGarten is a special feed and immune booster for the rapid activation of the immune system. ShrimpFit improves the immune system and provides your shrimp with nutritionally important active ingredients such as beta-glucans, mannan oligosaccharides, minerals and chitin.

Shrimps only have an innate, so-called primitive immune system. This means that it cannot "learn" over time and must defend itself against the same "attackers" again and again. So if an infection with a certain enemy has been overcome, it can attack again, the shrimp's immune system does not recognize it and the fight starts all over again.

The most common cases of bacterial infections in shrimp in aquariums are caused by non-pathogenic bacteria, i.e. they are not pathogenic bacteria, but normal bacteria that live in every aquarium and in every living creature. Unfortunately, these can quickly lead to a problem, namely when the immune system is weakened and/or does not become active quickly. A sleepy "sentinel" or a sluggish "combat troop" can be decisive in a fight.

If, for example, you put new shrimps/snails/fish in an aquarium that already contains shrimps, then it is often not "diseases" that are transmitted, but simply normal strains of bacteria that may not be known to the shrimps already living in the aquarium. The new bacteria can quickly settle in the shrimps, multiply rapidly and, if the immune system is not fit and fast enough, unfortunately often lead to deaths...
In short, without an immune system, a shrimp is just a piece of meat that wants to be broken down by bacteria. The immune system alone prevents this, which is why it is so important to strengthen the shrimp's immune system so that it can defend itself optimally and keep the shrimp healthy. Its sole job is to be faster and stronger than enemies can spread. ShrimpFit supports it in this task, the ingredients act as immune boosters in various ways.

Beta-glucan
Beta-1,3-1,6-glucans are structures that are recognized by the immune system as quasi-pathogens. Without a pathogen

pathogens, they trigger immune activation but do not cause any symptoms of illness. The immune system is thus made fit.
Beta-glucans are recognized by phagocytes (macrophages) via special receptors and are immediately absorbed. The phagocytes thereby activate the formation of additional cells for the immune defense, which then effectively protect the body from new pathogens in the blood and lymph system and can reduce the reaction time for defense.
As soluble fiber in the yeast hydrolysate used, the beta-glucans are fermented by the intestinal flora into short-chain fatty acids such as acetate, butyrate and propionate. Short-chain fatty acids are important regulators for a healthy metabolism, butyrate is the most important energy supplier for the intestinal mucosa cells and has an anti-inflammatory effect.

Mannan oligosaccharides
Mannan oligosaccharides promote the probiotic bacteria in the animals and a positive composition of the intestinal flora through their prebiotic effect.

Minerals and chitin
The minerals and chitin contained in the product support the development of the exoskeleton and counteract molting problems. Each molt is a major effort for the shrimp organism and especially during this time, when all energy is concentrated on molting, the shrimp is weakened and easily attacked. Unnecessarily long molting phases put the shrimp under additional stress, which weakens their immune defenses, which is why it is so important that the molting process takes place smoothly and quickly.

First aid
First aid (immediate aid) can prevent major damage because the immune systems of the shrimp, whether still uninfected or already infected, are activated faster and more strongly. At the same time, toxins are bound by GlasGarten ShrimpFit and flushed out of the intestine.

Preventive and regular feeding
When used preventively and fed regularly, ShrimpFit forms a protective film in the intestinal mucosa and increases the alertness of the immune system so that when a strong immune defense is needed, the invaders can be fought more quickly and effectively.

We recommend not giving any other food a few hours before and after feeding GlasGarten ShrimpFit in order to make the most of the effect of beta-glucan.
Overdosing or more frequent feeding is not recommended, as the effect of ShrimpFit's ingredients lasts for several days.
