The Indian almond tree, also called catappa tree (Terminalia catappa), Indian almond or badam, is native to Malesia and the Pacific region.
In aquaristics, the leaves of the tropical almond tree are used primarily as a preventative measure and to treat diseases. The ingredients in the leaves have antibiotic, antifungal, antioxidant, astringent and anti-inflammatory properties.
Use for treatment or prevention:
Furthermore, the tropical almond leaves also serve as long-term food for shrimps, for example. The natural decomposition process under water gives the small inhabitants a rich grazing area.
Application note:
One leaf can be added to 30 - 100 liters of aquarium water. We recommend pouring hot water over it briefly before adding it so that the pores of the leaf can open. (This way the leaf stays directly under water)
-> It is important to note that the leaf should not be left in the hot water for longer than 30 seconds, as this will release the active ingredients into the water, which will then end up in the drain.
Alternatively, you can place the leaves in the aquarium without first draining them or fix them. After about 2 - 3 days, the leaf will sink and remain under water.
The remaining leaves should be stored in a dry place, protected from light. Since this is a natural product, we use paper bags to absorb any residual moisture and thus prevent mold growth.
We usually ship within 2-6 working days so that you can receive your order quickly.
